The final two spots in the Championship 4 are up for grabs as the Round of 8 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs concludes Sunday with the 2024 Xfinity 500 at Martinsville. Tyler Reddick and Joey Logano have clinched a spot in The Cup Championship 4, leaving six drivers -- Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, William Byron, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott -- battling for the remaining spots.
Hamlin and Larson are the co-favorites at 9-2 in the latest 2024 Xfinity 500 odds, followed by Blaney (11-2), Byron (15-2) and Elliott (15-2). Sunday's race is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET.
Before making any NASCAR at Martinsville picks, be sure to see what CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto has to say.
Taranto, who moonlights as a sim racer and has 20 career wins in iRacing, is the lead NASCAR writer for CBSSports.com, and he chronicles stock car racing with the same thoroughness and passion that he's had since becoming a full-time race fan in 2001. He has an annual NASCAR media credential and also publishes a popular weekly NASCAR predictions column, famously calling Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez's breakthrough wins in 2022. Taranto has been red-hot for SportsLine in 2024 as he has nailed 16 winners, including 16-1 longshot William Byron at the Daytona 500 and 14-1 longshot Chase Elliott at Texas. Anybody following his NASCAR picks has seen HUGE returns!
For the 2024 Xfinity 500, we can tell you Taranto is high on Blaney (11-2), who has a strong track record at Martinsville. "Blaney's baseline and standard of performance at Martinsville is exactly what he needs this time around, as he is in a must-win situation in order to make the Championship 4 for the second year in a row after getting passed for the win by Tyler Reddick in the final corner at Homestead a week ago."
Taranto also locked in five more Xfinity 500 best bets and is high on a MAJOR dark horse who is going off with close to triple-digit odds! You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks before locking in any NASCAR picks of your own.
