We start our look at futures for the 2023 NFL season with who could win Super Bowl LVIII

The 2023 NFL season is still several months away, but most of the pieces are in place to start projecting how teams will perform this year and then build an NFL futures betting strategy around those expectations. Yes, it's possible the signing of DeAndre Hopkins, a quarterback trade or an unexpected training camp injury to a key player alters the trajectory of the season for a few teams, and we can make those adjustments as they develop. But with many team sports on hiatus during the summer months, now seems like a great time to start diving into NFL futures betting in earnest.

We're going to start at the top with Super Bowl wagering. Last year, the 2022 Kansas City Chiefs became the first team to win the Super Bowl without playing in the wild-card round since... the 2019 Kansas City Chiefs, ending a two-year streak that saw the 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 2021 Los Angeles Rams battle through three rounds to reach the Super Bowl and then take home the title. The Chiefs have been in three of the last four Super Bowls, and coming off a championship season it's no wonder they appear as Super Bowl 58 favorites at +600 odds, per Caesars Sportsbook.

Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles did not win the Super Bowl, but they came close before losing 38-35 to the Chiefs in the final game of the year. A preseason darling, the Eagles' steam pushed their odds to win the Super Bowl from the +4000 range to the +2500 range. It's starting to become common to see at least one team that was at least a moderate preseason longshot in the final two, with three of the last four Super Bowls featuring at least one +2500 or longer team. However, the last longshot to win the entire thing was the last Eagles team to make it there.

Below, you can find the current Super Bowl odds for all 32 teams at Caesars Sportsbook. Then, we'll get into which teams are worth backing, including the teams I believe are the best bets to emulate the longshot path to success in 2023.
