2024 SportsLine Upset Bracket Full of Surprises

SportsLine simulated every possible matchup 10,000 times and the team that won over half the simulations was selected to advance. In order to "simulate the madness," we also assumed that the Nos. 3-6 seeds with the lowest win percentage when compared to other teams of the same seed would be upset. With this approach, we've nailed 20 double-digit seed upsets in the first round!

No. 3-seed Creighton makes a strong run to the Elite Eight, upending No. 2 Tennessee along the way. No. 11 Oregon upsets No. 6 South Carolina in the first round by a projected score of 72-21, while No. 5 Gonzaga upsets No. 4 Kansas to reach the Sweet 16. If you're looking for an upset to give you an edge in your March Madness bracket pool, the model says to take No. 9-seed TCU to upset No. 8 Utah State before falling to top-seed Purdue.
