What was a top-10 offense in 2022 took a step back last year, with Geno Smith taking a step back after winning Comeback Player of the Year and the offensive line posing a major problem all season.

Enter new head coach Mike Macdonald, who should quickly elevate the play of an underachieving defense that has finished 25th in scoring in each of the past two seasons. One year after adding the best cornerback in the draft class in Devon Witherspoon, the Seahawks did the same with the best defensive lineman in the draft in Byron Murphy, and those two areas should be the strength to build around for Macdonald.
