2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic odds, picks, Fantasy golf power rankings: PGA Tour predictions, expert best bets

Eric Cohen reveals his golf best bets and top players for the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, MI

Scottie Scheffler won his sixth tournament of the 2024 season in dramatic fashion as he held off Tom Kim in a playoff to win the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, CT. Of those six tournaments, four have been Signature Events, plus The Players Championship, the unofficial fifth major, and The Masters in April. To say that Scheffler has been dominant since March would be an understatement. He's in the midst of an all-time great PGA Tour campaign that can only be properly capped off with a FedExCup title on September 1st.

Now the PGA Tour moves on to Michigan for the Rocket Mortgage Classic, an event without much star power. Detroit Golf Club hosts the event for a field of 156 players and $9.2 million in prize money. This par-72 course plays at nearly 7,400 yards and has tended to favor bombers off the tee as there isn't much to penalize players with wayward misses with the driver.

Last week's runner-up, Tom Kim is the +1200 favorite, followed by Cameron Young, who shot a 59 on Saturday in Connecticut, at +1400 odds. Akshay Bhatia and Min Woo Lee are +2000, with Alex Noren, Will Zalatoris, Maverick McNealy, Keith Mitchell, and Stephen Jaeger at +3000.

With the PGA Tour making its annual stop in Michigan, who can you trust for your Rocket Mortgage Classic golf picks? Before you set your Rocket Mortgage Classic golf lineups or make any PGA Tour bets, you NEED to see the Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Eric Cohen.

Cohen is an avid golf bettor who correctly predicted the pre-tournament outright winner of the 2024 U.S. Open (Bryson DeChambeau +2000), 2024 Players Championship (Scottie Scheffler +550), 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic (Rickie Fowler +1400), 2023 PGA Championship (Brooks Koepka +2000), 2023 Honda Classic (Chris Kirk +3500), 2022 Open Championship (Cameron Smith +2200), 2022 U.S. Open (Matt Fitzpatrick +2500), and 2022 Phoenix Open (Scheffler's first career victory at +2800).

Eric is a contributor to SportsLine's YouTube shows including "Early Edge" and is the host of "The Early Wedge" golf show (live on Tuesday, June 25th at 7 p.m. ET). Anyone who has followed Cohen's predictions is up big! Now, Cohen has studied the field set to play at Detroit Golf Clubs and revealed his Rocket Mortgage Classic Fantasy golf rankings.

We can tell you he is comfortable backing Davis Thompson at 40-1 odds, saying: "The 25 year old was extremely impressive two weeks ago at Pinehurst en route to a T9 finish, gaining more than seven shots around the greens and two on them. He finished T2 against a field not much worse than this one in Myrtle Beach in May and 17th two weeks later at the Charles Schwab Challenge."

On the other hand, Cohen is fading the oddsmakers' top choice, Tom Kim, at 12-1 odds. "This may be an unpopular opinion coming off a brilliant performance in Connecticut, but I just can't endorse a golfer at these low odds who is playing for the ninth consecutive week. I know that Kim is only 22 years old and has plenty of stamina, but there's a reason pro golfers build plenty of off weeks into their schedule."

Cohen is also backing several underdogs in his Rocket Mortgage Classic fantasy golf picks, including a 150-1 longshot who could be a difference-maker for your Fantasy golf lineups! If this player can pull off a stunning result, it would bring a HUGE payoff and be valuable pieces for Rocket Mortgage Classic golf lineups. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any fantasy golf picks.

Who wins the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and which 150-1 longshot could bring a HUGE payout and be the difference for your Fantasy golf picks?
