Co-host Australia and France will battle Saturday for a spot in the semifinals of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. France mauled Morocco 4-0 in Tuesday's Round of 16 matchup, while Australia eased past Denmark 2-0 on Monday. Les Bleues went 2-1-0 to win Group F, while the Matildas won Group B at 2-0-1. The winner will take on England or Colombia, who will meet in a quarterfinal later on Saturday.
Kickoff is set for 3 a.m. ET on Saturday at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia. France are +114 favorites (risk $100 to win $114) on the 90-minute money line according to the latest Australia vs. France odds, with Australia +255 underdogs. A 90-minute draw is priced at +205, and the over/under for total goals scored is 2.5. (For more soccer coverage, click here.)
Before you lock in your France vs. Australia picks or Women's World Cup predictions, you must see what soccer bettor Jon (Buckets) Eimer has to say.
Eimer is a high-volume bettor who has vast knowledge of leagues and players across the globe. Since joining SportsLine, he has covered the English Premier League, Serie A, the FA Cup and much more. Since the end of last year's World Cup he has been red-hot, going 167-149-8 for a profit of $2,787 for $100 bettors.
Eimer knows Les Bleues are the fifth-ranked team in FIFA's world rankings, five spots ahead of the Aussies. They have scored 12 goals while conceding four in the four WWC matches. Veteran Eugenie Le Sommer scored twice against Morocco to add to her national-team record. She has 92 goals in 182 appearances. Kadidiatou Diani scored her fourth goal of the tournament. Morocco had one shot attempt, which missed the target, and France held the ball for 75% of the match.
But Eimer also has taken into account that Australia beat France 1-0 in their final friendly tune-up, and they'll be backed again by the home crowd. The loss of captain Sam Kerr to injury set them back, but the Matildas have been resilient and she is expected to be back Saturday. The hosts have conceded three goals in the four matches, while scoring nine. Hayley Raso scored her third goal of the tournament against Denmark, giving her 15 in 75 international matches.
In preparation for Saturday's match, Eimer has taken an in-depth look at the Australia vs. France matchup and locked in his picks. He is going Over 2.5 Goals and has revealed his two confident best bets, both offering plus-money payouts. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his pick and analysis before making any selections of your own.
