The Florida Swing continues with the signature event on the PGA Tour, with the 2023 Players Championship set to tee off Thursday in Ponte Vedra Beach. The tour's top golfers will face another challenge at TPC Sawgrass, and with 43 of the world's top golfers in the field, setting winning Players Championship Fantasy golf lineups will take some effort. Jon Rahm will try to bounce back from last week's misstep, while Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler look to improve on top-five finishes at Bay Hill.
Despite a T-49 finish at Bay Hill, Rahm is the 17-2 co-favorite along with McIlroy in the latest Players Championship odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and Scheffler (10-1) is right behind. So, which of the Big Three would be the best choice for your Players Championship fantasy picks? Or should you avoid them altogether and take a player like 2021 Players winner Justin Thomas (19-1) or 2021 Fed Cup champion Patrick Cantlay (19-1)?
Which players can you trust for your Players Championship 2023 fantasy golf picks? Before you bet the 2023 Players Championship or lock in any Fantasy golf lineups, you NEED to see the Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Jim Holliman.
Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.
Holliman has been on a roll on his picks since last season, and last week, 11 of his picks finished in the top 15 and only one missed the cut. Three of his top seven picks posted top-five finishes. The golf expert also was behind Chris Kirk as winner at the Honda, backing the 25-1 shot to get his first victory since 2015! Holliman also CRUSHED the Genesis Invitational, backing Rahm after doubting him in previous weeks, and five of his top 12 picks finished in the top six!
Last season, Holliman NAILED the Tour Championship, saying McIlroy was the only player capable of making up a six-stroke deficit to get past Scheffler before he pulled it off. He also backed Will Zalatoris (28-1) at the St. Jude and Tom Kim (35-1) at the Wyndham Championship. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is WAY UP on their golf picks.
Now, Holliman has ranked his top players for the 2023 Players Championship, and we can tell you the expert is strongly backing Rahm. Holliman has learned his lesson about doubting the Spaniard, and his first-round 65 at Bay Hill shows he hasn't slipped much. "He has been elite in every category," Holliman says, "and he will bounce back and be right there again Sunday."
On the other hand, Holliman is fading Xander Schauffele (25-1), with the Olympic gold medalist not even meriting a spot in his top 10. The California native has finished in the top 10 once in his past four events and is 2 under over his past two (T-33 and T-39). He has missed three straight cuts at Sawgrass.
Instead, Holliman is backing several long shots, including three players in his top 10 who are priced at more than 30-1! One of these golfers has a recent top-10 finish at Sawgrass and could thrive if wind causes problems this weekend. If this golfer pulls off an unexpected victory this week, he would bring a SIGNIFICANT payday and make an excellent pick for your Players Championship 2023 Fantasy golf picks.
You ABSOLUTELY need to see who Holliman is touting and check out his top picks before you lock in any 2023 Players Championship fantasy golf picks!
