2022 RBC Canadian Open field, odds, predictions: PGA Tour best bets and picks from golf expert who discovers the long shots

Jim Holliman, who has been around the game for more than three decades and has been nailing his golf picks, offers his best bets and winners for this week's PGA Tour event in Toronto

The PGA Tour is finally back in Canada as a strong field tees off in the 2022 RBC Canadian Open on Thursday at St. George's Golf and Country Club in Toronto. Five of the world's top 10 players and a field of notables will get one last chance to get ready for next week's U.S. Open ain Brookline, Mass. The pandemic forced the cancellation of this tournament the past two years. Rory McIlroy dominated the last Canadian Open, going 17 under par on the weekend to finish 22 under and win by seven strokes.

The Northern Irishman will defend his title against a field featuring world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns and Cameron Smith, among others. Scheffler is the 8-1 favorite in the latest 2022 RBC Canadian Open golf odds from Caesars Sportsbook, with McIlroy and Justin Thomas hot on his heels at 9-1. Burns and Smith are both priced at 12-1, and Matt Fitzpatrick (18-1) and Shane Lowry (18-1) also are among the top contenders from the RBC Canadian Open 2022 field.

Before you consider any bets on the 2022 RBC Canadian Open or make any PGA Tour predictions, you HAVE TO see what golf expert Jim Holliman has to say.

Holliman has been a writer and editor nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.

Holliman seems to have a knack for finding diamonds in the rough. At the Charles Schwab, he had both winner Burns (28-1) and Davis Riley (45-1) among his contenders. Burns had missed two cuts in his previous four events, but was on fire Sunday and beat Scottie Scheffler in a playoff.

Before the PGA Championship, he touted Cameron Young, who came in at 65-1 and tied for third in Tulsa. Before the Wells Fargo, he backed winner Max Homa (40-1) and runner-up Keegan Bradley (35-1), and even had Stephan Jaeger (125-1) among his contenders as the German tied for sixth.

The expert also NAILED his picks for the Wells Fargo, where every one of the top five finishers were among his picks. Anyone who has followed his predictions is WAY UP!

Now, Holliman has released his confident 2022 RBC Canadian Open picks. SHOCKINGLY, the golf expert is fading Thomas. The two-time PGA champion has had some problems with his driver, and that will get him into trouble in Toronto. "He missed the cut with a ho-hum performance at the Charles Schwab," the expert says, "and this week could be more of the same."

Instead, the golf expert is touting a MASSIVE long shot who comes in at higher than 60-1. This veteran has a strong history on shorter courses, and "his accuracy off the tee and strong putting give him a good chance," Holliman says. He could pull off a SHOCKING victory at St. George's this week! Anyone who backs this underdog could make a HUGE profit!
