The 2022 Open Championship (formerly known as the British Open) will tee off Thursday, July 14th from the "home of golf," the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland. Hosting the Open Championship for a record 30th time, St. Andrews' Old Course is the perfect setting for the 150th edition of Europe's most celebrated golf tournament. It's also the fourth major of 2022, with notable names Scottie Scheffler (Masters), Justin Thomas (PGA Championship), and Matt Fitzpatrick (U.S. Open) having won the first three.

Playing as a 7,313 yard, par 72 course, low scores are likely if the weather and winds are forgiving. In the previous four Opens at St. Andrews, the winning scores relative to par were -15 (Zach Johnson, 2015), -16 (Louis Oosthuizen, 2010), -14 (Tiger Woods, 2005), and -19 (Tiger Woods, 2000).

The weather looks to be breezy (west to southwesterly winds) on Thursday and Friday, with chances of rain on Thursday and Friday. The weekend is projected to be dry though the winds will remain consistent and southerly so the holes should play different than the first two days. Sunday should be sunny and warmer which should be the ideal finish for the 150th edition of this tournament.

The latest 2022 Open Championship odds at Caesars Sportsbook list Rory McIlroy, who has finished in the top 10 of all three majors thus far in 2022, at 9-1, followed by Jon Rahm (14-1), Xander Schauffele (14-1), Scheffler (16-1), Jordan Spieth (16-1), Thomas (18-1), and Fitzpatrick (18-1). Last year's winner of this tournament, Collin Morikawa, comes in at 25-1.
