The 2022 Formula 1 schedule continues on Sunday with the 2022 Rolex Belgian Grand Prix at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday, Aug. 28. The race has a scheduled start time of 9 a.m. ET. Carlos Sainz of Ferrari is the +260 betting favorite (risk $100 to win $260) in the latest Belgian Grand Prix odds from Caesars Sportsbook. He is followed by Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, who comes in at +275. Defending champion Max Verstappen ran the fastest lap in practice Friday and is getting +350 odds. Verstappen has an 80-point lead over Charles Leclerc (15-2) in the drivers' standings while Red Bull has opened up a 97-point lead over Ferrari for the constructors' championship.

SportsLine's proven computer projection model simulated the Belgian Grand Prix 2022 10,000 times and came up with a surprising leaderboard.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model takes into account a slew of factors including track history and recent results.

The model has been scorching hot when it comes to picking Formula 1 race events dating back to 2021. It nailed both of Leclerc's wins in 2022, and at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, the model was strongly backing Verstappen as its top pick. The result: Verstappen dominated the field and ran away with a surprising victory. The model followed that up by calling Verstappen's win at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP in April. Anyone who followed the model's lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns!

Opened in 1921, Spa first began hosting Formula 1 in 1925 and, after hosting just once in a 14-year-period from 1971-1984, has hosted the Belgian Grand Prix continuously since 1985. With eight wins in 13 races for far this season, Max Verstappen is well on his way to a second consecutive drivers championship. Verstappen won the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix and will be one of five drivers in the 2022 Belgian GP field with a win at Spa along with Hamilton, Leclerc, Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo.

Now, the model has dialed in on the 2022 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections.

We can tell you the model is calling for Carlos Sainz to struggle despite being listed as the +260 favorite after Friday's practice. Sainz ran the fifth-fastest lap of the day in practice on Friday and won at Silverstone earlier this year but the model has him barely earning a podium finish.

The model is also targeting another driver with triple-digit F1 Belgian Grand Prix odds to make a serious charge up the leaderboard! Anyone who backs this driver could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who he is before locking in any Formula 1 Belgian GP picks of your own.

So who wins the 2022 Formula 1 Rolex Belgian Grand Prix? And which long shot is a MUST-BACK? ... Join SportsLine right now to see the full projected F1 Belgian GP leaderboard, all from the model that has nailed its racing picks all year, and find out!
