The PGA Tour stars will be back in action this week as the path to the FedExCup title begins in the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. The top 125 players in the FedExCup standings earned spots in the St. Jude Championship 2022 field, led by Masters champ Scottie Scheffler, who has a lead of more than 1,200 points. But the winner gets 2,000 points, so players like British Open champ Cameron Smith (second) and reigning FedEx winner Patrick Cantlay (fifth) have a chance to catch up in Memphis, Tenn. Other notable names in the start-studded field include PGA champion Justin Thomas, U.S. Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth.
McIlroy is the 11-1 favorite in the latest 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship odds from Caesars Sportsbook, followed by Scheffler (14-1) and Smith (16-1). Cantlay (18-1), Rahm (18-1), Thomas (18-1) and Xander Schauffele (18-1) also are among the top contenders in a FedEx St. Jude Championship 2022 field.
Before you consider any 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship picks or make any PGA Tour predictions, you really need to see what golf expert Jim Holliman has to say.
Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.
The golf expert NAILED last week's Wyndham Championship, backing 35-1 Joohyung Kim among his picks. "The 20-year-old has six worldwide victories, and it's a matter of when (not if) he gets his first on the PGA Tour," Holliman said. It turns out it was Sunday, as the South Korean fired a final-round 61 to win by FIVE strokes! Six of the expert's picks finished 27th or higher.
Holliman has had a knack for finding the longshots all year. At the Rocket Mortgage Classic, two of his three longshots of more than 50-1 made the cut, and before the 3M Open, the expert tabbed Emiliano Grillo (50-1) as a contender before the Argentinian finished T-2.
At the British Open, four of Holliman's picks finished in the top eight, including Dustin Johnson (35-1) and Tommy Fleetwood (35-1). For the PGA, he touted Cameron Young (65-1) before his T-3 finish, and he backed 125-1 shot Stephan Jaeger at the Wells Fargo before his T-6. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is WAY UP!
Now, Holliman has released his confident 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship picks. SHOCKINGLY, the golf expert is fading Rahm! The Spaniard has finished outside the top 25 in six of his 16 events, including the past two, and doesn't have the putting savvy to win in Memphis.
Instead, the golf expert is touting an INSANELY MASSIVE long shot who comes in at about 200-1 odds! This golfer has a strong track record at Southwind, because he hits it straight and can make par even if he misses the green. He could pull off a SHOCKING result, and anyone who backs this underdog would cash in HUGE!
