Will Zalatoris has surged to the top of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Standings, and the second of three events is set to tee off Thursday in the 2022 BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club. Zalatoris got his first PGA Tour victory after posting three runner-up finishes this season, and now he heads to Wilmington, Del. with a 124-point lead over world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. The top 70 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings qualified for the field, and that will be whittled to 30 for next week's Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Rory McIlroy is ninth in the standings and is the 10-1 favorite in the latest BMW Championship odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Jon Rahm is priced at 12-1, and Zalatoris, Masters champion Scheffler, PGA winner Justin Thomas and reigning FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay are all at 14-1. U.S. Open champ Matt Fitzpatrick at 16-1 along with Tony Finau.
Before you consider any 2022 BMW Championship picks or make any PGA Tour predictions, you really need to see what golf expert Jim Holliman has to say.
Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.
The golf expert backed Zalatoris at 28-1 last week, noting that the young star's abrupt caddy change could pay dividends. "The 25-year-old isn't far off, and he could get it together this week with a new caddy and a renewed purpose," Holliman said. That's exactly what happened, as Zalatoris showed supreme confidence (and clutch putting) to outlast Sepp Straka in a bizarre playoff at the St. Jude Championship.
Holliman also NAILED the Wyndham Championship, backing 35-1 Joohyung Kim among his picks. "It's a matter of when (not if) he gets his first on the PGA Tour," Holliman said, and it turned out to be at Sedgfield, where the 20-year-old won by five strokes.
The expert also has had a knack for finding the longshots all year. At the St. Jude, as many top stars went home early, 200-1 shot Chez Reavie made the weekend. And before the 3M Open, the expert tabbed Emiliano Grillo (50-1) as a contender before the Argentinian finished T-2.
At the British Open, four of Holliman's picks finished in the top eight, including Dustin Johnson (35-1) and Tommy Fleetwood (35-1). And before the PGA, he touted Cameron Young (65-1) before his T-3 finish. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is WAY UP!
Now, Holliman has released his confident 2022 BMW Championship picks. SHOCKINGLY, the golf expert is fading Scheffler despite the outstanding season he has had. Holliman knows the world's top-ranked player is still among the best on tour, but he is in a rut and the expert doesn't see him digging out this week.
Instead, the golf expert is touting a longshot who comes in at MASSIVE triple-digit odds! This golfer has been firing rounds in the 60's on a regular basis and has the recent results to prove it. He could pull off a SHOCKING result, and anyone who backs this underdog would cash in HUGE!
