The PGA Tour's only team event returns this week when the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans tees off Thursday for its fourth edition at TPC Louisiana.
The team of Jon Rahm and Ryan Palmer won the event the last time it was played in 2019 and is the 15-2 favorite in the latest 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans odds at William Hill Sportsbook. Xander Schauffele/Patrick Cantlay (8-1) and Cameron Smith/Marc Leishman (11-1) are among the other contenders from the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans field.
Before setting your Fantasy golf lineups or betting the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, you NEED to see data scientist Rick Gehman's power rankings.
With his expansive database of golf statistics, course data and betting odds, Gehman creates advanced models and back-tests them constantly. These models have produced 12 outright winners in the past 18 months -- including Webb Simpson at last year's RBC Heritage as a 30-1 longshot!
Just last week at Harbour Town, FIVE of Gehman's top eight picks finished in the top 13, including Matt Fitzpatrick and Corey Conners, who tied for fourth! Collin Morikawa and Webb Simpson also made the top 10.
"He's truly found his form and will look to improve on his T-21 finish last year," Gehman told SportsLine in reference to Conners. The 29-year-old shot three rounds in the 60s to finish at 13 under par
The previous week at the Masters, three of Gehman's top eight picks finished in the top five! That included Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele, who tied for third.
Gehman has been on fire all season! At the Honda Classic, the field was limited by its placement between The Players and the Match Play, but Gehman still picked five in his top 10 who tied for 13th or better. At The Players, three of Gehman's top seven made the top 10, and at Pebble Beach, three of his top four had top-five finishes! Anyone who has followed his advice has cashed in HUGE!
Now, Gehman has ranked his top 20 teams for the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. We can tell you he is looking for even bigger things from Rahm and Palmer this year! They cruised to a three-stroke victory at 26 under par in 2019, and they come in playing even better! Rahm is the third-ranked player in the world and has eight top-10 finishes this year, while Palmer is having one of his best seasons on tour at age 44. Gehman expects them to put up a strong defense to their title!
On the other hand, Gehman is fading the team of Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman, even though they are the third favorites at William Hill. Both have been in solid form, and their ability to get hot on the greens makes them dangerous. But Gehman sees several teams with more talent and chemistry, and he doesn't even have this pairing in his top 10!
Instead, Gehman is expecting a big week from a HUGE long-shot pairing that is listed at higher than 90-1! This team combines a player who is one of the best ball-strikers on tour with one who is a deft player around the greens. This format rewards golfers who complement each other, and this duo could pull a shocker! You'll want to have them in your Fantasy golf lineup when they do. You ABSOLUTELY need to see what Gehman is saying about them before betting the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans or entering any Fantasy golf lineups.
