The Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-5) meet the Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-6) for the first time since 1970 when they square off in the 2021 Liberty Bowl on Tuesday. Mississippi State posted a 20-16 victory in that matchup to improve to 4-2-1 in the all-time series. Kickoff from Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tenn. is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET.

The Bulldogs are 10-point favorites in the latest Mississippi State vs. Texas Tech odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 57.5. (See the latest college football lines for all of this week's games on our college football odds page.)

Before making any Texas Tech vs. Mississippi State picks or college football predictions, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,600 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It also entered the third week of the 2021-22 college football bowl season on a 43-30 run on all top-rated college football side picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows Mississippi State will tie Arkansas for most appearances in the Liberty Bowl when it participates in the contest for the fifth time on Tuesday. The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 in the game after trouncing Rice 44-7 in 2013. Mississippi State, which is ranked third in the nation in passing offense (385.7 yards), has won 10 of its last 14 bowl games after edging Tulsa 28-26 in last year's Armed Forces Bowl.

The model also knows Texas Tech is making its first bowl appearance since losing to South Florida 38-34 in the 2017 Birmingham Bowl. The Red Raiders have lost back-to-back bowl games after winning nine of their previous 11. Texas Tech closed out the regular season with four defeats in its final five games, including a 27-24 setback at then-No. 8 Baylor on Nov. 27.

Now the model has simulated Mississippi State vs. Texas Tech 10,000 times, and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning Under on the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits over 60 percent of the time. You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in your own picks.
