Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Allan Bell, Emory Hunt and Chip Patterson on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for college football and Major League Baseball for Friday, Sept. 30.

Coach starts things off with the SportsLine Play of the Day: the Braves (+105) to beat the Mets (7:20 p.m. ET) in the first game of their showdown series. The winner of this weekend series will likely win the NL East, and while the Mets are sending Jacob deGrom to the mound, Max Fried "is no slouch," Coach says. The Braves will be motivated to take care of business in front of their fans in Atlanta.

Emory has some insight for Friday night's CFB games. He's taking Over 64 in UTSA-Middle Tennessee on Friday night (7:30 p.m. ET). Emory's also on UNLV to cover (-14.5) against New Mexico on Friday (11:00 p.m. ET). "UNLV is playing some of its best ball under Marcus Arroyo, who has his best team since he's been in Las Vegas," he says. For the second straight week, the show's fading a tumultuous Boise State program. Emory's taking the San Diego State moneyline (+215) against Broncos (8:00 p.m. ET). "Quarterback change, [offensive coordinator] getting fired, chaos... the Aztecs come in with a very good offensive line, very good front seven... they'll slowly choke out Boise State and win that one straight up," Emory says.

For Saturday's games, Emory's on Over 70.5 (-110) in Fordham vs. Georgetown (1:00 p.m. ET). Fordham averages 45 points per game -- and gives up 45 per game. That number should easily hit. Emory's also playing Over 47 (-110) in Holy Cross vs. Harvard (1:00 p.m. ET)

Allan's also playing the UTSA-Middle Tennessee game. He's on UTSA -4.5 (-110). "This team has played bonafides this year," Allan says. "Texas, Houston, Army. They've been in every single one of these games. They've gone to overtime twice. This team is legit."

Chip's fading Boise State too. He's taking San Diego State +6 (-110). "Boise State? Absolute tire fire," he says. In other Friday night action, he likes Washington -2.5 (-110) against UCLA (10:30 p.m. ET). "How much of a home field advantage do you put into your handicapping for the Rose Bowl?" Chip wonders. "Since the start of 2016? UCLA against top-15 opponents? 0-11. In the Chip Kelly era against top-15 opponents? 0-6."

On Saturday, Chip likes Arkansas +17 (-110) vs. Alabama (3:30 p.m. ET). "Nick Saban and Alabama, on the road, since the start of last season? They can't cover big spreads," he says. Chip's also playing Duke -2.5 (-110) against Virginia (7:30 p.m. ET), citing how the Blue Devils are exceeding expectations and the Cavaliers are falling short of them.
