Jonathan Coachman is joined by top sports betting experts Matt Severance, Allie O'Neal, Justin Perri and Allan Bell on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get the prime plays for Major League Baseball, the NFL, college football and soccer for Wednesday, September 8.

The Coach spotlights the new afternoon schedule of college football and NFL programming. Matt tells us why Clemson is facing a bleak outlook in terms of making the college football playoff field. Allan provides essential information on why kickers can have a major impact on Week 1 NFL results.

The two SportsLine Plays of the Day are from the World Cup Qualifiers at 2:45 p.m. ET. The recommended picks are Sweden +110 over Greece and England to win and score two goals vs. Poland at +105.

Allan's top college football selection is Pittsburgh and Tennessee to go Under 57 on Saturday at noon ET. Tennessee has offensive issues and faces a stout defense. In the NFL, he is taking the Bears and Rams Under 46.5 points on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET. Matt Nagy and Sean McVay have hit the Under in recent matchups and Chicago is going with Andy Dalton in the opener.

Allie is rolling with the Rays in the first five innings at -105 over the Red Sox at 7:10 p.m. ET. Boston is skidding and Tampa Bay is playing very well on the road. Justin is eyeing the same game, taking the total to go Over 9.5 runs. He reveals trends that strongly back the pick up. Justin then delivers his Week 1 NFL choices, including the Jaguars and Texans Over 44.5 points. Both teams will continue to look highly vulnerable on defense. His Week 1 NFL parlay features the Buccaneers, 49ers and Rams.

Matt's top MLB play is the Rockies +130 over the Giants at 3:10 p.m. ET. "I think they are due," he says of Colorado. "The Giants haven't had an off day in almost three weeks.  I think they are going to rest a few regulars today. Anthony DeSclafani has a 6.26 ERA during the day. Jon Gray has been better at home and during the day." In college football, he is taking South Carolina in a pick' em spot vs. East Carolina on Saturday at noon ET. The Gamecocks will benefit from key returnees in the backfield. Matt is also on Michigan -6 over Washington on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. This is a long trip for the Huskies, who looked terrible last week.
