Jonathan Coachman is joined by top sports betting experts Matt Severance, Allie O'Neal, Larry Hartstein and Allan Bell on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highly recommended plays for college football, NFL, MLB and the U.S. Open for Friday, Sept. 10.
The Coach is riding with Alabama in his futures, but Larry fires a warning shot about the Crimson Tide. Even though Tom Brady won on Thursday, Allen uncovers a very interesting ATS trend about him. Matt tells us how new head coaches may fare in the first full week of the NFL schedule.
The SportsLine Play of the Day is from the U.S. Open, as the Coach spotlights Novak Djokovic to win over Alexander Zverev and both players to win a set at +150 at 7 p.m. ET.
In MLB, Allie is going with Milwaukee over Cleveland in the first five innings at -0.5 at 7:10 p.m. ET. The Brewers are better on the road than Cleveland is at home, and Milwaukee has a decisive edge in the pitching matchup.
Allan's featured college football play is Coastal Carolina -26.5 over Kansas at 7:30 p.m. ET. "Kansas is coming off the high of their first win, which might be the only win that they have this season," he said. "What do they do on offense? They run the ball. But it's a little tough to run the ball when you're down by 20. At the end of the game, when Coastal is looking to kill the clock, they average 14 yards per rush."
Matt is taking Air Force -5.5 over Navy on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. He sees a trend coming to an end for home teams in the series. He is also looking UAB and Georgia to go Under 46 points on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Bulldogs may be worn down after their matchup with Clemson, but the defense will still do its job. In the NFL, Matt is riding with the Packers and Panthers on the money line at +125.
Larry's prime NFL play is the 49ers -8 over the Lions on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Detroit will be dealing with several disadvantages, but the offensive line problems will be the biggest concern.
