Poor Aggies. Not only were they thoroughly outplayed at home last week by unranked Kentucky, they now have to face a Tigers team—in Death Valley, no less—that will be out for blood after losing last week against Ole Miss. LSU also will be out for revenge after being blown out by A&M last year in College Station. Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed ranks 101st in the country in passing efficiency (123.9). Tigers reauxll. Two units.
A lot of the talk entering this game has been about both starting QBs and which one do you trust the most. I believe the talk should be about whether or not the Tigers can slow down the constant, quick interior pressure they are giving up. You would expect coming off of losses that both QBs will be on their best behavior in terms of play, which is why I believe this game will be a lot closer than the spread indicates.
I've far more faith in LSU than A&M right now but my lack of belief in Sam Leavitt is why I'm not ready to take LSU -8.5. Instead, I'll focus on the total as I won't be surprised if both offenses turtle up and struggle considering this is a must-win for both coming off a loss.
