CBS Sports Network game. Nevada gets a big piece back tonight -- literally -- in 6-foot-11 center Warren Washington, who has missed the past eight games with dislocated fingers. He averages 10.1 points and 6.2 rebounds. Nevada lost by 11 at UNLV on Feb. 1 but Washington and star Grant Sherfield (18.7 ppg) were out. Sherfield has been back a while. UNLV is probably the better team overall and I'd back the Rebs at home and on a neutral court, but Nevada looks to avoid its first season sweep against its rival in seven years. Washington will be an emotional boost even if limited to 20 minutes or so. NOTE: I NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS PICK IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT. Nevada's Desmond Cambridge (16.9 ppg) is not playing for some reason. Just great.
UNLV has won five of seven, including a 69-58 win over Nevada when the Wolf Pack were missing current Mountain West Player of the Week Grant Sherfield and center Warren Washington. Washington (dislocated finger) is a gametime decision tonight, but even if he plays his minutes will be limited. Two of Nevada's recent wins have come against lowly San Jose State. A big key for the Rebels has been the return to health of Victor Iwuakor: He is an unselfish player and tenacious defender who makes UNLV's pieces fit. Take the points.
