Nevada was favored by five when it blistered UNLV by 29 points at home Sunday. Two days later: same teams, same place ... and nearly the same spread. The Rebels could welcome back G Bryce Hamilton (ankle) but, since he skipped Sunday’s game, should not count too heavily on their prolific scorer. Trends overwhelmingly support the Wolf Pack. They have covered in four of the past five games in Reno and seven of nine overall. They have swept the last seven series matchups outright. The Rebels, especially if short-handed, could be weary during their fifth game in 11 days.
I took Nevada on the moneyline Sunday against visiting UNLV ... but noted in my pick afterward on an update that I would have been more than comfortable taking the Wolf Pack on the spread (-5) once it was revealed about a half-hour before tipoff the Rebs' leading scorer, Bryce Hamilton, was out injured. Nevada rolled 89-60. It sounds as if Hamilton will sit again, and while this may not be another destruction I'll sure give the points. Nevada is 7-2 ATS in its past nine.
