ICYMI, the Coyotes are relocating to Utah for the start of next season, making tonight their final game in Arizona. Hosting an Edmonton team that they just beat, and that has nothing to play for and should be resting guys, makes the value play clear in this one. Expect a rowdy and emotional Mullett Arena powering an Arizona win to send the team out in style.
Tonight is apparently it for the Yotes in the desert, as they prepare to move to Salt Lake City. But since word of the transfer, Arizona has played even-more inspired hockey, which the Yotes have been doing for weeks now. Among recent victims have been the Preds (who carried an 18-game unbeaten streak) and VGK at Tempe, and road wins last week at both the Canucks and tonight's foe the Oilers. While Arizona might be extra-inspired tonight, Kris Knoblauch is more interested in Edmonton simply coming out unscathed, and will likely be giving more run to the various depth pieces on the roster, though Stuart Skinner is apparently looking to stay sharp for the playoffs and is expected in goal. Play Coyotes on Money Line
I'm going to assume that Vancouver gets at least a point tonight vs. Calgary to clinch the Pacific Division, which would lock in Edmonton to second in the Pacific and give the Oilers no reason to care whatsoever on Wednesday in the front end of a back-to-back and the final game for the Coyotes in Arizona before a move to Salt Lake City. I'm sure the players will go all-out on the home side. Tomorrow, I might come back and play the Yotes outright.
