Not going to run through all the playoff scenarios but essentially the loser's season is over; the Caps are in with a win, while the Flyers would need a regulation win and some help. If having home-ice advantage and a major rest advantage -- Washington played Monday and Philly has been off since Saturday -- matter at all in the NHL, then the Flyers should win. Because the Caps used No. 1 Charlie Lindgren in net Monday, presumably they are stuck with very inconsistent No. 2 Darcy Kuemper here. Maybe Lindgren starts again but that's far from ideal.
