After some tough close losses early in the season, the Raiders looked to be a team worth trusting despite their record. In the last few weeks, however, they've turned into something of a laughingstock, especially after getting rolled in Jeff Saturday's coaching debut. Of course, they didn't know they'd be facing Matt Ryan, who is a much different QB than Sam Ehlinger. The good news is that they'll be up against an offense that has been at least as bad as the Colts, one I was cautiously optimistic would turn the corner coming out of its bye last week but continues to be awful. The Raiders handled the Broncos earlier in the season with their run game, and they could do so again here.
The Raiders have owned the Broncos of late, winning 7 of their last 8 meetings. That includes Week 4, when the Raiders put up 32 points — the only game this season where Denver gave up more than 19. And in that one, the Broncos defense had Randy Gregory (now no IR), Bradley Chubb (traded) and K’Waun Williams (out with a knee injury). On offense, the Broncos have been a train-wreck all season, and they could be missing seven starters from their Week 1 depth chart — including Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler, while two more O-linemen are iffy with two others already on IR. Of course, Devante Adams is questionable and the Raiders have looked awful at times, but against a team they’ve owned that’s decimated by injuries, grab the points.
