I've been on the Raptors from the start of the playoffs. Tonight will be unknown territory for the Raptors, trying to close out an NBA Finals and become world champions. Golden State gets the services of Kevin Durant back which will help in so many ways. Lets start on defense where the Warriors allowed Toronto to shoot 63 percent effective field rate in Game 3 without two of their superstars on the floor. With just Klay Thompson (and Kevon Looney) back on the court for game 4, Toronto's effective FG was just 48 percent or 3.4 percent below the normal eFG percent during the playoffs. Warriors come out with their backs to the wall. This will be the first time in the Warriors history with Curry, Durant, Thompson and Green on the floor that the are an underdog. I think the Warriors win the game but I have a stronger play in the first half (-114).
It looks like Kevin Durant (calf) is going to return for Game 5, potentially providing a huge boost for the Warriors. Even if he is limited, just having him out on the floor causes the Raptors to focus on him defensively, taking some of the pressure off of Stephen Curry. It would likely also provide a huge emotional boost. I don’t think the Warriors go down without a fight, so I’ll take them and the points.
The whole world is waiting to find out if Kevin Durant will or won't play in Game 5. I'm not. I like this line where it is right now. If Durant doesn't play, I got the Raptors at a nice discount seeing as how they opened as 3-point favorites and the line shrank with news of Durant practicing. If Durant does play, I still like the line. Toronto is at home and Durant will not be at 100 percent, and it'll be his first game action in over a month.
