The Brewers trail the Cardinals by two games in NL Central and need wins. Brian Woodruff is 5-0 at home this season with a 2.38 ERA. He's allowed two or fewer runs in 10 of his 17 starts. The Brewers have put up four runs or more in each of their last five games when Woodruff starts. Ryan Pepiot makes his sixth career start and is 1-0 with a 3.92 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. In his last start, Pepiot allowed four runs off five hits in 4 1/3. However, I'm backing the more experienced pitcher at home to slow down this Dodgers lineup. Play the Brewers to win (-120).
I don’t really care who is pitching for the Dodgers, anytime they’re underdogs while playing the way they are right now, I will take them. They have now won 34 of their last 40 games and 13 of their last 14 games. Ryan Pepiot is making just his 6th career start but he has pitched solid in his five previous starts, he just doesn’t make it deep in games. However, the Dodgers have the 4th best bullpen ERA since the All-Star break. Brandon Woodruff has pitched a quality start in 6 of his 8 starts since returning from the IL but then he has the 26th ranked bullpen since the ASB backing him up. I like the Dodgers at plus money.
