The Western Michigan Broncos (5-4, 2-3 Mid-American) will try to continue their dominance of the Akron Zips (2-7, 1-4) when they host a cross-division MACtion showdown Tuesday night on CBS Sports Network. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The Broncos are the 24.5-point favorites in the latest Western Michigan vs. Akron odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 62. (See the latest college football lines for all of this week's games on our college football odds page.)

Before you consider your Western Michigan vs. Akron picks or college football predictions, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,500 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It also enters Week 11 of the 2021 season on a 31-20 run on all top-rated college football side picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The Broncos are 15-5 all-time against the Zips and have won four of the past five meetings. Akron didn't score more than 19 points in any of those five, and the Broncos topped 40 points in the four victories. WMU quarterback Kaleb Eleby (2,253 yards, 13 TDs, three INTs) leads an offense that averages 444 yards per game (39th in FBS). It will face a Zips defense that ranks 114th in total defense (446). The Broncos' unit allows just 328 yards per game (24th) and has  27 sacks, led by Ali Fayad with 6.5.

The Zips fell short in their rally attempt in a 31-25 loss to Ball State last week, but quarterback Zach Gibson threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns. One of those went to receiver Michael Mathison, who had 154 yards on just eight catches. Coach Tom Arth was fired on Thursday after the loss to the Cardinals, and the players will try to rally around Oscar Rodriguez, the associate head coach who will take over on an interim basis. The Zips have 10 takeaways, led by Charles Amankwaa with three interceptions.

Now the model has simulated Western Michigan vs. Akron 10,000 times, and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning Over on the total, and it also says one side of the spread is hitting in nearly 60 percent of simulations. You absolutely need to see it before locking in your own picks.
