Two teams looking to keep their playoff hopes alive will square off when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football. Pittsburgh (6-5-1) held on for a 20-19 home victory over AFC North-leading Baltimore on Sunday to end its three-game winless streak, while Minnesota (5-7) became the first team to lose to Detroit this season after it dropped a 29-27 decision on the road.
Kickoff from U.S. Bank Stadium is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Minnesota is a 3.5-point favorite in the latest Vikings vs. Steelers odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 43.5. Before making any Steelers vs. Vikings picks, you NEED to see which side SportsLine expert R.J. White is on.
White, a CBS Sports fantasy and gambling editor, ended the 2020 season on an 80-59 run on all NFL picks, returning more than $1,400 during that span. He also is outstanding at handicapping the Vikings, going 38-19-3 on his last 60 picks involving Minnesota, returning over $1,600. It's no surprise, as White has cashed huge twice in the world's most prestigious football handicapping competition, the Las Vegas SuperContest. Anyone who has followed his picks has seen HUGE returns.
Pittsburgh's offense didn't get going until the fourth quarter last Sunday, with Ben Roethlisberger connecting with Diontae Johnson for a pair of touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 1:48 remaining. The 39-year-old quarterback, who could change uniforms after the season, has thrown at least one TD pass in each of his 11 outings this year and been intercepted in just one of his last seven contests.
Minnesota still is in the mix for a wild-card spot in the NFC despite having suffered back-to-back losses. Each of the Vikings' seven defeats have been by one score, with two occurring in overtime and last Sunday's setback coming on the final play of the fourth quarter. Kirk Cousins is among the league leaders with 25 touchdown passes, including at least two in five straight games, and only three interceptions. Justin Jefferson ranks second in the NFL with 1,209 receiving yards after a career-best 182-yard performance at Detroit.
