Pittsburgh Steelers 2022 futures: Super Bowl odds, win total picks, best bets, schedule and more

The Steelers begin life after Ben Roethlisberger as underdogs in the AFC North.

Mike Tomlin has never endured a losing season in his 15 years as Steelers head coach. He's made the playoffs ten times and only finished .500 three times. Regardless of what happens in 2022, Tomlin's eventual Hall of Fame candidacy is rock solid. But unfortunately for him and Pittsburgh's fans, this season seems it will be spent as part of a minor rebuilding effort. Future Hall-of-Famer Ben Roethlisberger finally retired, leaving the Steelers quarterback job open to journeyman Mitchell Trubisky and first-round pick Kenny Pickett. Running back Najee Harris and receivers Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool give the QB plenty of talent to work with on offense. The defense, led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt, should once again be above-average, if not borderline great. But likely inconsistency at the team's most important position might do them in.

The first eight games are tough, including five against 2021 playoff teams. If Pittsburgh can somehow escape at 4-4 going into their Week 9 bye, Tomlin's streak of success may not be dead yet. The last nine games feature opportunities for five wins and an outside chance at playoff contention.

Pittsburgh's only chance at hitting their win total of 7.5 is if Pickett immediately becomes an impact player right out of the gate. While Tomlin has never turned in a poor record as a head coach, oddsmakers aren't buying into the Steelers at all. It's hard to see Pittsburgh making a big splash, but the team also isn't awful. They'll be difficult to bet on until the quarterback situation has some more clarity.

Below, you'll find the Pittsburgh Steelers 2022 schedule, win total and more futures odds from Caesars Sportsbook, followed by picks from top SportsLine NFL analysts Larry Hartstein and R.J. White. You'll also find three bets favored by the SportsLine Projection Model.
