One of the most storied rivalries in college football is set to renew on Saturday when the No. 21 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-2) host Caleb Williams and the No. 10 USC Trojans (6-0) at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET in South Bend, Indiana. USC is coming off a 43-41 triple overtime win over Arizona, while Notre Dame is aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 33-20 loss to Louisville. USC won last year's matchup 38-27, but Notre Dame has won four of the last five meetings and lead the all-time series 48–37–5.
The Irish are 3-point favorites in the latest Notre Dame vs. USC odds via SportsLine consensus, while the over/under for total points scored is 60.5. Notre Dame is a -144 favorite (risk $144 to win $100) on the money line (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college football odds page).
Before you make any USC vs. Notre Dame picks or any other college football predictions, you NEED to see which side proven SportsLine expert Jimmie Kaylor is on.
Kaylor is a NFL, college football, and DFS expert for SportsLine, who has covered the NFL and college football for close to a decade as a member of the Pro Football Writers of America. His background as a former college football All-American and NFL player gives him a unique perspective when building his fantasy lineups and locking in his betting picks. He has his finger on the pulse of the college football landscape and has been cashing in big for the last two years.
Kaylor has been red-hot on his football picks for SportsLine in 2023, going 19-6 on his best bets, including a 5-1 mark in the USC-Colorado game, up to this point in the season. Anyone who has followed his picks is WAY UP!
Kaylor knows that USC has struggled against lower level Pac-12 teams in back-to-back weeks. He also knows that the Trojans have the best player in college football in dynamic quarterback Caleb Williams. While the play of the USC defense thus far has been below average at best, Williams and the USC offense can score points in bunches and against any defense in the country. Williams enters this matchup completing 71.7% of his passes for 1,822 yards, 22 touchdown passes, and one interception. He's also rushed for 124 yards and six TDs.
Kaylor, however, also factored in that Notre Dame has dominated this series recently, winning four of the last five matchups and five straight in South Bend. The Irish may effectively be eliminated from College Football Playoff contention, but they are strong on both sides of the ball. Transfer quarterback Sam Hartman is the best player the Irish have had at the position in several years and enters this matchup completing 64.5% of his passes for 1,712 yards, 16 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He's also scored two TDs on the ground.
Now, Kaylor has locked in a confident against-the-spread pick for USC vs. Notre Dame. We can tell you he's leaning Over on the point total, but he knows a crucial X-factor makes one side of the spread a MUST-BACK! You ABSOLUTELY need to see what it is before locking in any picks of your own.
