While every team is at your disposal for Week 1 NFL survivor picks, you also have no in-season data to utilize. Also, there are six interconference matchups between unfamiliar opponents such as Steelers vs. Falcons (-3.5), Cowboys vs. Browns (-2.5), Titans vs. Bears (-4), Cardinals vs. Bills (-6.5), and Jets vs. 49ers (-4). Before you make your Week 1 NFL survivor pool picks or NFL knockout pool picks, you NEED to see which team the SportsLine Projection Model is backing.
The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up well over $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season on an incredible 181-129 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. It is also on a 35-21 roll on top-rated NFL picks since Week 7 of 2022.
The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP!
The model can be used to crush the Survivor Pool format, which calls for picking one team to win each week but never using the same team twice.
In Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, we can tell you the model is shying away from the Miami Dolphins (-3.5), even though they're coming off an 11-6 season and are favored over a Jaguars team that went 9-8 and missed the playoffs. Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagovailoa have squared off once before and it resulted in Lawrence's first NFL victory, as the Jags prevailed 23-20. More recently, the Dolphins lost their last three games of 2023 and their vaunted offense averaged just 13.3 points over that stretch. While the Dolphins are projected to win in almost 60% of simulations, the model is saving Miami for another week.
Instead, the model is backing a SURPRISING team that wins outright in almost 80% of simulations! Picking this team will put you in the optimal position to win your NFL survivor pool. You NEED to see which team the model is backing before locking in your NFL survivor picks!
