The Boise State Broncos will try to bounce back on Friday night when they visit the New Mexico Lobos for a Week 2 college football matchup at University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M. on CBS Sports Network. The Broncos came into the season as the media's pick to win the Mountain West, while the Lobos were expected to finish last. But Boise State kicked off with a surprising 34-17 loss to Oregon State last Saturday, while the Lobos cruised to a 41-0 victory against Maine, an FCS program.

Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET. The Broncos are 17.5-point favorites in the latest Boise State vs. New Mexico odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and the over/under for total points is set at 44 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college football odds page).

Before you make any New Mexico vs. Boise State picks, you NEED to check out the college football predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past six-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,500 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It enters Week 2 of the 2022 college football season on a 48-37 run on all top-rated college football spread and money-line picks that dates back to 2021. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows the Broncos are the more talented team and a perennial MWC contender. Quarterback Hank Bachmeier had a dismal season debut and is in a battle to keep the starting job. Backup Taylen Green had some electrifying moments Saturday, including a 74-yard touchdown run. Five turnovers doomed the Broncos, and the defense allowed 470 yards. Bachmeier threw for 3,079 yards with 20 TDs and eight interceptions in 2021 but threw two picks on eight attempts last week. The Broncos had 23 takeaways and 29 sacks last season.

The model also has considered that the Lobos are playing at home and come in with confidence after the game against Maine. They allowed 118 total yards while piling up 437, including 267 on the ground. QB Miles Kendrick averaged 10 yards per pass attempt, completing 14 of 17, and eight running backs rushed for at least 20 yards. Sherod White led the way with 58 yards and two TDs on 13 carries. Receivers Geordon Porter and Luke Wysong both eclipsed 50 yards and scored a TD, and White had two catches for 25 yards.

The model has broken down the New Mexico vs. Boise State matchup from every angle, and we can tell you it is leaning Over the total. It also says one side of the spread hits well over 50% of the time! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college football picks.
