A spot in the Breeders' Cup Classic will be on the line when the starting gate opens in the 2026 Goodwood Stakes on Saturday at Santa Anita Park, just east of Los Angeles. The winner of the $300,000 race will earn an automatic berth in the $7 million Classic on Halloween at Keeneland. The Bob Baffert-trained Nevada Beach has been installed as the 7-5 morning-line favorite in the 2026 Goodwood Stakes odds. Forged Steel (5-1), Caldera (5-1), Original Sin (6-1), Taif (8-1) and Mr. A.P. (8-1) round out the top six choices in the nine-horse Goodwood Stakes field. Post time for the race is 7:40 p.m. ET.

In March she nailed the Renegade-Silent Tactic-Taptastic trifecta in the Arkansas Derby. And on the Kentucky Derby undercard, she smashed two races: Crude Velocity's win in the Pat Day Mile and Stark Contrast's win in the American Turf.
For the 2026 Goodwood Stakes, Yu has made her picks and constructed her bets. One surprise: She is not betting Nevada Beach to win, even though he is the 7-5 favorite. "He is a deserving favorite, but if the odds are short, you would be better to try and beat him," she told SportsLine.
