The 2024-25 FBS bowl schedule begins on Dec. 14 when South Alabama faces Western Michigan in the Salute to Veterans Bowl. South Alabama is an 8.5-point favorite in the college football bowl odds. The latest college football bowl lines can be a helpful tool when locking in 2024-25 college football bowl confidence picks, but identifying several upsets can give you an edge over the field as well.
The College Football Playoff games are included in college football bowl confidence contests as well, so there are more games than ever this postseason. There are only five teams favored by double digits, creating plenty of close games to include in your college football bowl confidence strategy.
Before entering any college football bowl confidence pools, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.
The model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a profit of well over $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college spread football picks, and it went a profitable 43-34 on top-rated picks during the 2024 regular season. Anyone following has seen impressive returns!
Now, it has studied the latest college football odds (see the latest college football lines for each matchup this week on our college football odds page), simulated every single play for every College Football Playoff game, and the results are in.
One of the model's most confident picks is that Oklahoma, an 8.5-point favorite, gets a comfortable win over Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 27. The Sooners lost five of their final seven games during the regular season, and they will be without quarterback Jackson Arnold (transfer portal). However, freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. started several games this season and flashed his potential against Tennessee in September. Navy was blown out by Notre Dame and Tulane during the regular season, so the model has Oklahoma winning outright in well over 70% of simulations.
Another one of the bowl confidence predictions the model is high on: No. 14 Ole Miss (-14.5) crushes Duke in the Gator Bowl on Jan. 2. The Rebels narrowly missed out on a College Football Playoff spot after going 9-3 during the regular season. All nine of their wins came by double digits, and they have one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Duke lost to both ranked teams on its schedule, which is one reason why the model has Ole Miss winning over 80% of the time.
The model has also made the call on who wins every other game, including 15 matchups where one side is winning in at least 65% of simulations, in addition to 10 underdogs winning outright! These projections can give you a huge edge in your 2024-25 college football bowl picks, so you ABSOLUTELY need to see them before finalizing any picks.
So which teams should you back in your college football bowl confidence pools, and which underdogs win outright? ... Join SportsLine now to see who wins every single bowl game, all from the model that has returned well over $2,000 in profit on top-rated ATS picks since its inception!
