The PGA Tour heads back to the seashore this week as the California Swing continues with the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open, which tees off Wednesday at Torrey Pines outside San Diego. Jon Rahm is right back in action as he tries to record his third straight tour victory following last week's American Express at La Quinta. He also seeks his third victory at Torrey Pines, where he won the 2017 Farmers and the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm will be joined in the field by the likes of Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Tony Finau.
Caesars Sportsbook lists Rahm as the 4-1 favorite in its latest 2023 Farmers Insurance Open odds. The Spaniard is followed by Schauffele (12-1), Finau (12-1) and Collin Morikawa (12-1). Thomas is priced at 13-1 and Will Zalatoris, who lost to Luke List in a playoff in San Diego last year, is listed at 14-1.
Which players can you trust for your Farmers Insurance Open 2023 fantasy golf picks? Before you bet the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open or lock in any Fantasy golf lineups, you NEED to see the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Jim Holliman.
Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.
The golf expert has been on a roll on his picks since last season. And at the Sony Open, his bargain pick Matt Kuchar ($7,900) posted a top-10 finish and two more were in the top 15. Fading Hideki Matsuyama was also the right move, as the defending champion barely cracked the top 50. Last week, four of his selections finished in the top 26.
Last season, he NAILED the Tour Championship, saying Rory McIlroy was the only player capable of making up a six-stroke deficit to get past Scottie Scheffler. "He has a lot of ground to make up," Holliman said, "but he is the most well-rounded player in this field, so if anyone can do it, he can." The Northern Irishman was actually down by 10 through two holes Sunday but stormed back to claim the title.
Holliman also was behind Zalatoris (28-1) at the St. Jude and was on the money at the Wyndham Championship, with Tom Kim (35-1) among his selections. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is WAY UP on their golf picks.
Now, Holliman has ranked his top players for the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open, and we can tell you the expert is strongly backing Schauffele. Holliman knows the San Diego native is in line for a few victories this season after he posted three in 2021-22. "There's no reason one can't be here," the expert says.
On the other hand, Holliman is surprisingly steering clear of Thomas, a two-time major champion! The former world No. 1 is out of sorts and is "just not in the same league with Rahm and a few others right now." He might get a decent finish, but it won't be enough to justify the high price.
Instead, Holliman is backing a MASSIVE sleeper for fantasy rosters who is listed at around 100-1 to win at Caesars! This golfer hits it a long way and has been piling up birdies. "He could be due for something special," the expert says," and Holliman will be banking on this golfer heavily in his Farmers Insurance Open 2023 Fantasy golf picks.
You ABSOLUTELY need to see who Holliman is touting and check out his top picks before you lock in any 2023 Farmers Insurance Open fantasy golf picks!
