The NFL's 103rd season officially kicks off on Thursday, September 8th with a matchup between the defending Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams, and the current year's preseason betting favorites, the Buffalo Bills. The season culminates on Sunday, February 12th, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona with Super Bowl LVII. In total, the league will feature 272 regular season games and 13 playoff games, which means there are plenty of opportunities for bettors to wager on America's most popular sport. With dramatic player movement this offseason -- including household names Russell Wilson, Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Deshaun Watson, Khalil Mack, and Von Miller changing teams -- the landscape of the NFL looks quite different than it did at the end of the regular season last January.

Due to the NFL's new addition of a 17th game in 2021, NFC teams will have nine scheduled home teams as compared to the AFC's eight. On paper, the AFC looks deeper with eight of the top 13 preseason betting favorites to win the Super Bowl, though the NFC boasts three of the top four favorites. With the AFC won last season by an extreme long shot, Cincinnati, parity in the league has never been better.
