This game is noteworthy in history because it's the earliest kickoff ever for a Pac-12 contest. It could be noteworthy on the field because two of the conference's top returning QBs are going head to head in Jayden Daniels of ASU and Kedon Slovis of USC. Naturally, the Trojans are way overvalued in what is essentially a neutral-site game since the Pac-12 will have no fans. Take the points in what should be a one-score game.
The Pac-12, with its never-ending supply of stupidity, has decided to not only play games at 9 am local time this season, but to put what could be one of its biggest games of a short season in that time slot. I'm going to guess that neither one of these teams is going to be very sharp considering the early start time, and it being the first game of the season for both.
This game will kick off at 9 a.m. local time, which is absurd, but in a good way! The major challenge here is not the early start, but how the teams will come out of the gate after a weird and truncated offseason. I expect a slow start by both, but that also means this game will be extremely close the entire way. Arizona State QB Jayden Daniels and coach Herm Edwards seem to thrive in games like that. Last year's meeting with Oregon is a great example.
