In Chris Petersen I trust. He has been just a 50-50 against the spread coach in his five years at Washington, but he is 5-2 ATS this year, including a great job last week in the second half at Arizona. Oregon's defense has been great, but I feel like the Ducks have been very lucky, facing Stanford with a beat-up K.J. Costello, California, Colorado, Nevada and Montana. Not one of those offenses will scare you. Washington has a great home field and has a great chance to win straight up. Take the Huskies.
I'm sorry, but in a coaching matchup of Chris Petersen against Mario Cristobal, I have a hard time passing up Petersen getting points at home. Washington has been inconsistent this season, but Oregon has beaten up on bad teams and struggled against stiffer competition. Washington's defense will give an inconsistent Oregon offense plenty of problems on Saturday, and Cristobal will do something to cost his team the cover here.
The Ducks will essentially wrap up the Pac-12 North with a win Saturday, and they should have the edge against rival Washington. Justin Herbert and friends have superior firepower, and the Oregon defense has only allowed double figures once this season. The Huskies have a stout defense of their own, which should keep them competitive, and run-dominant drives could shorten the game and give them a chance. But Washington will need to play a nearly flawless game to win. Look for the Ducks to separate late.
