Colorado is the highest-scoring team in the NHL with 179 goals. Each of the club's last five games and eight of its last 10 have had seven or more goals scored, with the Avalanche recording seven on their own twice in the last three contests. Washington doesn't score much as it ranks 30th with 109 goals, but its differential (-26) is one of the worst in the league, and I can see Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and company having a big night.
We're not quite ready to go all of the way with the Caps tonight after a couple of limp efforts at St Louis and Minnesota to begin this road trip. But the Puck Line provides another alternative at a reasonable price, and worth a look as the dreaded "Rule of Seven" kicks in tonight for the Avs, off of a 7-4 win over the Flyers. Colorado has been shipping a lot of goals recently(17 across the past four games), and Alexander Georgiev experiencing a bumpy January in goal, with a 3.38 GAA and .885 saves. The Caps might not need the extra goal, but as long as it's reasonably available looks a proper way to go in Denver. Play Caps on Puck Line
