Ravens' AFC North title, Super Bowl 55 odds take hit with loss to Steelers and season-ending injury to Ronnie Stanley

Baltimore has lost All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley for the season.

Sunday was not a good day for the Baltimore Ravens as they lost a crucial home game to the unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers, 28-24, and also saw first-team All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley go down with a season-ending gruesome ankle injury. Baltimore's odds to repeat as AFC North champion have risen to +270 (Steelers are now -340) and to win Super Bowl 55 rose to +850.

It's going to be tough for the Ravens (5-2) to earn the AFC's top seed now as they are two games behind the Steelers (7-0) in the loss column and obviously have lost the first head-to-head tiebreaker – they play again on Thursday in Week 12 – and also behind the Kansas City Chiefs (7-1), who won their head-to-head matchup vs. Baltimore in Week 3.

Stanley rather fortuitously had signed a five-year, $98.75 million extension with the Ravens on Friday to become the league's second-highest paid left tackle behind Houston's Laremy Tunsil. Stanley's $70.87 million guaranteed was $16 million or so more than Tunsil got.

How good was the 26-year-old Stanley last season when the Ravens set an NFL record for rushing yards? He allowed just six quarterback pressures, the fewest by an offensive tackle in 14 years. This year entering Sunday's game, Stanley had a pass block win rate of 96.8 percent, the highest among qualified offensive tackles, and a 78.3 percent run block rate that was ninth among tackles. The former No. 6 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame has allowed just nine career sacks.

Stanley was carted off the field at M&T Bank Stadium in the first quarter vs. Pittsburgh. Before Stanley went down, right guard Tyre Phillips left with an ankle injury. It wasn't a coincidence that Lamar Jackson struggled against a very good defense, throwing two picks and losing two fumbles – the reigning NFL MVP had just three turnovers all season entering. In fact, Jackson has seven turnovers in career starts against the Steelers and 15 in 27 starts against all other teams
