Antonio Brown signing odds: Can Ravens, Packers or Saints keep former All-Pro receiver from Seahawks?

It now seems all but a sure thing that an NFL team will soon be signing Antonio Brown.

The NFL suspension of mega-talented but mega-high-maintenance former All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown will end after Week 8, and it seems to be fait accompli that some contender will take a shot on the former Steeler, Raider and Patriot – although we think it's safe to say that Pittsburgh, Las Vegas and New England aren't interested. SportsLine has offered NFL odds on where Brown lands with Seattle the clear-cut favorite.

The 32-year-old Brown, a seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro, has played in just one game over the past two seasons (with the Pats last year). In July, he was handed the eight-game ban for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

When a franchise quarterback wants something, he usually gets it and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, the current +150 MVP betting favorite at William Hill sportsbook, wants Brown. The two are friendly and worked out this summer together. Brown is also close with Seahawks backup quarterback Geno Smith.

Seattle needs a No. 3 receiver behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett; the team signed Josh Gordon – another talented but troubled guy – but he still hasn't been reinstated by the league from his suspension. Coach Pete Carroll has enough job security where he can take risks on certain players and has flat-out said he doesn't mind "getting close to the edge" in seeking talent. Seattle looked into Brown last year when he was released from the Raiders.

On Wednesday while appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Carroll said this of Brown: "The thing I can tell you about it, competitively, [G.M. John Schneider is] in on everything. He knows everybody in the league, he knows what's going on, he's kept us involved and has made marvelous moves over the years. We'll see how this one — you know, we're there, we're in it and we know what's happening. It isn't settled yet and we don't know where it is going to go but we're always on the ready to compete to get guys and so this is one of those chances and we'll see what happens."

Brown also worked out this summer in Miami with Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Baltimore wideout Marquise Brown, who is Antonio's cousin. Jackson has said he hopes the team signs Antonio Brown. Baltimore desperately needs a No. 2 receiver as the projected one this year, Miles Boykin, has just 11 receptions for 122 yards.

Green Bay also needs receiver help behind Davante Adams. The Packers generally don't take these types of high-profile risks but might simply to keep Brown from potential playoff foe Seattle.

New Orleans worked out Brown last December and has major injury questions regarding No. 1 wideout Michael Thomas, who reportedly has suffered a setback with a hamstring issue and hasn't played since Week 1.

New England coach Bill Belichick has never been shy about taking risks on talented players with character issues like Brown; Titans coach Mike Vrabel is a Belichick protégé. The Titans investigated trading for Brown when first made available by the Steelers early in 2019.

Tampa Bay is all-in for a Super Bowl this year and Tom Brady has made no secret he would like the team to sign Brown, but Coach Bruce Arians, who spent two years with Brown in Pittsburgh, has resisted that so far. The Bucs can't seem to keep their top two wideouts, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, healthy.

Bengals speedster receiver John Ross, a former first-round pick, is very available in trade and could be a fallback option for some of these teams.
