Spurs vs. Bucks Wednesday NBA injury report, odds: Milwaukee new leader at sportsbooks for NBA title, biggest game favorite of season

The Milwaukee Bucks are massive home favorites Wednesday vs. San Antonio.

The mismatch of the 2022-23 NBA season has arrived. The tanking San Antonio Spurs, in the second game of a back-to-back, visit the Milwaukee Bucks, the team with the league's best record and the betting favorite for the first time this season to win the NBA title. Perhaps it's no surprise, then, that the Bucks are whopping 18-point favorites Wednesday at DraftKings, the biggest spread of this season.

The last time the Bucks were at least 18-point favorites was on Aug. 4, 2020, when they were -19 at home vs. Brooklyn and actually lost 119-116. Milwaukee also failed to cover the previous time on record it was at least -18.

San Antonio has been at least -18 once on record: March 5, 1997, when the Spurs were right on that number in Chicago and got blown out 111-69. Michael Jordan had only 16 points because he saw the court for less than 24 minutes.

With Boston scuffling a bit lately and the return of Kevin Durant to the Suns still TBA, the Bucks are the new title favorites at +330 at DraftKings for the first time this season. At 51-20, Milwaukee holds a two-game lead over Boston for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs – including the NBA Finals. Those two teams play a huge game in Milwaukee on March 30, which is also MLB's Opening Day. I'm looking forward to that day!

No starters are listed on the injury report for the Bucks, who have won 22 of their past 25 games, with reserve Jae Crowder out.

Giannis Antetokounmpo still has a shot at his third MVP award, priced +400 behind Joel Embiid (-240) and Nikola Jokic (+250). He became the franchise leader in games played (712) on Sunday against the Raptors and had his fourth triple-double of the season with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Antetokounmpo was 9-for-9 from the field, marking just the 13th time in NBA history a player has had a triple-double without missing a shot. Milwaukee is 4-0 when Antetokounmpo tallies a triple-double this season and 29-4 in his career. One wonders how many minutes he'll get tonight ahead of a tough road trip. Antetokounmpo is set at over/under 31.5 points, which is about his season average.

San Antonio is in full-blown tank mode and could sit several key players to improve their draft lottery chances. Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell and Zach Collins were all held out of Tuesday's blowout loss in New Orleans, so there's a chance they could play Wednesday.
