2022-23 NBA win totals: Sacramento Kings taking biggest Over lean in league at sportsbook

Bettors at Caesars Sportsbook are pretty optimistic about the 2022-23 Sacramento Kings.

The team taking the biggest Under lean on its win total in the NBA at Caesars Sportsbook with the season tipping off tonight is the Memphis Grizzlies, even though they had the second-best record in the league last season. The team taking the biggest Over lean is the Sacramento Kings, despite the fact that they have the longest playoff drought in the league. Their total is set at just 34.5 wins after winning 30 games last season.

Sacramento's streak of playoff absences is an NBA-record 16 seasons. Following a 6-11 start, the Kings fired coach Luke Walton and promoted veteran lead assistant Alvin Gentry last year, but Gentry didn't get the full-time job this offseason: Golden State Warriors assistant Mike Brown did. He previously led the Cleveland Cavaliers (2005-10, 2013-14) and Los Angeles Lakers (2011-13) and has a 347-216 record.

Last season, the Kings traded guards Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield and veteran forward Tristan Thompson to Indiana for All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis. He averaged 18.0 points and 12.3 rebounds in 15 games with his new club. This summer, Sacramento acquired guard Kevin Huerter from Atlanta and selected Iowa's Keegan Murray with the No. 4 overall pick. Huerter is a good three-point shooter and averaged 12.1 points in 2021-22.

Murray won Las Vegas Summer League MVP honors after averaging 23.3 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting 40% from 3-point range. He's a +430 second favorite behind Orlando's No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero (+170) to win Rookie of the Year. Note that neither Huerter nor Murray may play in Wednesday's season opener vs. Portland, however, as Huerter has a sore ankle and Murray is in health and safety protocols.

At Caesars, the Kings have taken twice as much Over money on their season win total as every team except for the Denver Nuggets. Sacramento's Over also has 1.5 times more tickets than any other Over, with that Over racking up 95.0% of the tickets among all wagers placed. For handle, the number is 86.5%.
