Packers vs. Giants betting preview: Odds, picks, props, trends, injuries, weather and more for Monday Night Football Week 14 matchup

Before you lock in your plays for Monday's Green Bay at New York Giants game, check out our full betting preview.

Not all that long ago, the Week 14 Monday night matchup between the Green Bay Packers (6-6) and New York Giants (4-8) at MetLife Stadium looked like it could be one of the worst primetime matchups of the season and a candidate to be flexed out of the time slot, but it suddenly has some intrigue with young quarterbacks Jordan Love and Tommy DeVito playing well and the Packers right in the middle of the NFC playoff chase despite a 2-5 start to the campaign. Green Bay is -6.5 on the SportsLine consensus with a total of 37 points.

In Weeks 2-3 when ABC/ESPN had a Monday night doubleheader, one game kicked off at 7:15 p.m. ET and the other at 8:15 p.m. ET, but both this matchup and Titans-Dolphins start at 8:15 p.m. ET tonight. Packers-Giants is on ABC and gets the No. 1 broadcast team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.

The Giants are simply playing for pride at this point. DeVito, an undrafted free agent, has been named the starting quarterback for the rest of the season by head coach Brian Daboll. A New Jersey native, DeVito is 2-1 as the starter and has completed 62.9% of his passes for 697 yards with seven touchdowns and three picks, good for a rating of 92.4 that is best on the team. Usual starter Daniel Jones, out for the season, was at 70.5.

Veteran No. 2 Tyrod Taylor has a 92.1 rating. He returned to practice last week but hasn't officially been activated off injured reserve. That should happen before Monday's kickoff. Taylor started each of the first three games for which Jones was sidelined but missed the past four with broken ribs, opening the door for DeVito. Team leaders have backed Daboll for naming the DeVito the starter rather than simply handing the job back to Taylor.

"The team reacted well," linebacker Bobby Okereke said to reporters last week. "We've all rallied around Tommy these past couple games. We have the utmost respect for Tyrod — the way he carries himself and the body of work he's had in his career — but we're excited for Tommy."

About a month ago, Green Bay officials had no idea if Love was the quarterback of the future, but he has been one of the league's best during the team's three-game winning streak. Talk of readdressing the position in the 2024 draft has quieted -- although Love will not have one of his top weapons Monday. The Packers sit seventh in the NFC, have an updated over/under season win total of 9.5 (Under a -200 favorite). They're -250 to make the postseason and +200 to miss it. The remaining schedule is quite easy. They're home vs. Tampa Bay, at Carolina, at Minnesota, and finish at home vs. Chicago.
