The New York Knicks haven't been to the Eastern Conference semifinals since 2013 but would advance there with a victory in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series in Cleveland tonight owning a 3-1 series lead. The Cavs, though, are -5.5 at BetMGM. Bettors at the book are destroying New York ATS and on the moneyline, and the most popular player prop is on Knicks guard Jalen Brunson. Interesting that the Cavs are favored by so many considering they lost Game 1 at home and were largely dominated in Games 3-4 in New York – Cleveland's lone victory in the series was 107-90 in Game 2. The Cavs are 24-7 in their last 31 playoff home games and 9-3 in their past 12. They have come back to win a series after trailing 3-1 once in franchise history and that was the 2016 NBA Finals vs. Golden State. This is the first time New York has won back-to-back playoff games since April 2013 vs. Boston.

As of this writing, just 32% of bets and 28% of money are on the Cavs at -5.5. On the very low total of 202.5 points – no game in the series has reached 200 points –58% of bets and 46% of money are on Over. New York on the moneyline (+185) is taking 80% of bets and 73% of money. The Knicks finished the season with the fourth most road wins in the Eastern Conference (24).

In his first postseason with the Knicks, Brunson is averaging 24.3 points with a high of 29 (Game 4) and a low of 20 (Game 2). The most-wagered player prop tonight is Brunson Over 23.5 points at -115, while teammate Julius Randle Over 21.5 points is also taking heavy action. He has really struggled of late with a combined 18 points in the past two games amid some health concerns.

New York has one injury note: Guard Quentin Grimes is questionable after missing Game 4 with a right shoulder contusion, but he did practice Tuesday. Grimes has struggled offensively, shooting 2-for-11 from the field in the first three games. He is a very good defender. Josh Hart started in his spot in Game 4 and had 19 points, seven rebounds and two steals and helped hold Cavs star Donovan Mitchell to just 11 points.

The most popular Cavs player prop tonight is Over 29.5 points by Mitchell at -115. Including the regular season, Mitchell is averaging 33.8 PPG in four home games this year vs. New York and 34.8 PPG in his career in postseason games following a game of fewer than 15 points.
