Alabama has proved so far this season that it will always cross that 30-40 point mark on the scoreboard. The question then becomes, "How many will the opponent score?" This week, the Tide face a Mississippi State team that has looked unimpressive on offense since their victory against LSU in their opener. Look for Alabama to not let up defensively and continue to put pressure on the Bulldogs passing game.

It appears Mike Leach wasn't joking when he talked about a purge because Mississippi State players are walking out the door frequently these days. Even so, I like the Bulldogs to cover here. Alabama has played two rivalry games in a row, beating Georgia and Tennessee. There's bound to be a bit of a letdown here, particularly following the loss of Jaylen Waddle for the season. Plus, Nick Saban's Alabama teams are only 15-26 ATS when favored by 30 points or more.
