NFL Week 2 opening odds: Patriots & Ravens are double-digit favorites

Odds for NFL Week 2 games have been released, and two of the most impressive teams of Week 1 are the heaviest favorites.

There are two NFL games on Monday night to close Week 1, but that hasn't stopped the Westgate NFL odds for Week 2 from being released; keep in mind that some sportsbooks won't release odds for any game involving a club playing on Monday night. Some will, but obviously those numbers could change depending on the MNF result or if there's a major injury.

For example, New Orleans opened as a 3-point underdog for Week 2 at the Los Angeles Rams in a replay of last season's NFC title game won by the Rams in the Big Easy, but if the Saints were to get trashed on Monday night by Houston or lose Drew Brees to injury, well, that Rams number would shift in a big way.

There were no double-digit favorites in Week 1 but there are two in Week 2: New England giving 14.5 points at the atrocious Miami Dolphins (that spread is probably going up), and the Baltimore Ravens at -13.5 at home vs. Arizona. The Patriots looked excellent on Sunday night in trouncing the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers 33-3. In his 20th season, Tom Brady threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns. Oh, and now he gets a new weapon in former Steelers Pro Bowl receiver Antonio Brown, who should make his Patriots debut in Week 2 against the Dolphins after his brief stay with the Raiders.

The Ravens embarrassed the Dolphins 59-10 on their own field in Week 1 behind 324 yards passing and five touchdowns from Lamar Jackson. The points and 643 total yards were franchise records and the 42 first-half points were an NFL Week 1 record for a first half. Rookie Marquise Brown, Antonio Brown's cousin, had TD catches of 47 and 83 yards in the first 11 minutes. Baltimore is probably pretty good, but Miami is clearly nothing more than an XFL roster at this point.

The Dolphins already might be ready for a quarterback change too as Josh Rosen replaced starter Ryan Fitzpatrick in Sunday's debacle. Fitz was 14-for-29 for 185 yards with a TD and a pick, while Rosen was 1-for-3 for 5 yards with a pick. Week 2 will certainly not be the last time that Miami is a double-digit underdog this season.

There is one opening pick'em in Week 2: Philadelphia at Atlanta in the Sunday night game.
