2020 NFL Draft: Tua Tagovailoa odds to Redskins boosted at William Hill sportsbook

Could Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa be picked No. 2 overall in this month's draft by Washington?

The first round of the 2020 NFL Draft is three weeks from today and will be conducted virtually because of the coronavirus pandemic. With UFC 249 very much in jeopardy, the draft is the only major "live" sporting event that 100 percent will go forward the rest of this month and perhaps much longer.

William Hill sportsbook is offering dozens of NFL Draft props, and the site also does daily "odds boosts" as promotions. For example, earlier this week (the New Jersey version of the site) it offered a boost on Villanova odds to win next season's NCAA Tournament as well as on Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz for 2020 NFL MVP. These odds boosts generally last 24 hours or so.

Today, William Hill has a promotion available on Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. It has boosted his chances of being drafted by the Washington Redskins, who pick No. 2 overall in Round 1, from +400 to +550 – so, if bettors think this could happen today is definitely the time to act from a value perspective.

Washington is still the third betting choice on "which team will draft Tua Tagovailoa" behind the Miami Dolphins (currently picking No. 5 overall) at -150 and Los Angeles Chargers (picking No. 6) at +250. Tua has an Over-Under draft position of 3.5, with the Under a slight -125 favorite (wager $125 to win $100).

The Redskins aren't all that likely to take Tua as they selected Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins at No. 15 overall last year and also recently traded for Carolina quarterback Kyle Allen. The Redskins have many other needs, and they are -300 favorites to be the team that selects Ohio State defensive end Chase Young.

Tagovailoa said this week that he was "100 percent" recovered from surgery to repair a broken hip suffered on Nov. 16 at Mississippi State that ended his Alabama career. Tua can't be examined by teams due to the coronavirus but has been posting videos of him working out and also having virtual meetings with NFL teams.
