Celtics vs. 76ers injury report, odds, spread: Joel Embiid, Seth Curry, Kemba Walker, Robert Williams will play; Jayson Tatum will not Wednesday

The Philadelphia 76ers haven't had arguably their four most important players in Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris and Seth Curry in the same game for quite a while due to injury and COVID protocols, but they all should play Wednesday when Philly hosts bitter rival Boston. The Celtics will have Kemba Walker and Robert Williams in the lineup but not leading scorer Jayson Tatum yet. The Sixers are 4.5-point favorites on the William Hill Sportsbook NBA odds.

Both clubs have been hammered by COVID protocols, and Tatum remains in that. Teams are purposefully being vague about whether guys tested positive for the virus or simply were close contacts, but it's possible Tatum could return this weekend. The 22-year-old, averaging 26.9 points, hasn't played since Jan. 8.

Williams, averaging 6.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in just 16.4 minutes per night as a key reserve, hasn't played since Jan. 6 due to the protocols but practiced Tuesday and should be in there. Walker made his season debut in Sunday's 30-point home loss to the Knicks and had nine points and four assists in 20 minutes. He didn't report any issues after with that surgically repaired knee so he'll play, although likely have his minutes limited again.

Embiid didn't travel in the Sixers' two-game road trip over the weekend – Sunday's game at Oklahoma City was postponed – due to lower back troubles but is off the injury report and will play. He's having an MVP-type season, averaging 25.0 points and 11.5 rebounds. The Sixers have gone 0-3 this season without Embiid.

The sharp-shooting Curry has completed his quarantine and will play – although Curry could be limited in minutes considering he hasn't practiced in a couple of weeks. Philly is 7-1 straight up when Curry plays this year and he's averaging 17.0 points and shooting a stellar 60.3 percent from the field and 59.5 percent from deep. Update: While Curry was cleared and not originally on the injury report, the Sixers will sit him for conditioning reasons.

Wednesday is the first meeting of the season between the teams; they play again Friday in Philadelphia. Boston is 4-1 against the spread in the past five in the series. The Celtics swept the Sixers in the first round of last summer's bubble playoffs.
