There are plenty of intriguing matchups on the world soccer slate this weekend. MLS rolls into its second week, and the jockeying for position in the tables in the Big Five leagues is ramping up. Fifth-place Newcastle face a test of their viability as a top-four contender in the English Premier League with a matchup against second-place Manchester City on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET. 

Longtime EPL rivals Liverpool and Man United face off Sunday at Anfield (11:30 a.m.) as the Reds try to make their own push for a Champions League position against red-hot United.
