Updated Super Bowl 54 odds: Chiefs edge closer to favored Patriots

The Kansas City Chiefs' odds to win Super Bowl LIV got a bit better after a big Week 3 victory over the Ravens.

Anyone for a Patriots-Chiefs rematch in the AFC Championship Game? We definitely could be trending that way – they do play Week 14 at Gillette Stadium – as New England remains the +360 favorite on the FanDuel NFL futures odds to win a seventh Super Bowl and Kansas City's odds moved from +700 last week to now +550.

Both teams were winners in Week 3. New England, in its first game since releasing star receiver Antonio Brown, had little trouble in a 30-14 victory over the short-handed New York Jets. Tom Brady threw for 306 yards and two scores and now has 524 career touchdown passes. He passed Drew Brees for No. 2 on the all-time list with Peyton Manning up next at 539. The Patriots haven't even been challenged yet this year but might be Sunday at fellow unbeaten Buffalo. The Bills are 7-point underdogs on the NFL odds.

The Bills (+4500 to win Super Bowl), Chiefs, Cowboys (+1300), Packers (+1400), Patriots, Rams (+850), and 49ers (+2800) are all 3-0, and the Lions (+6000) are 2-0-1. It's only the second time in league history that eight clubs are unbeaten through three team games. The other was in 1998. Buffalo, Green Bay, San Francisco and Detroit all missed the playoffs last year. It's the fourth time under the current playoff format (since 1990) at least four teams have started the season undefeated through their first three games after missing the postseason the previous year.

Kansas City beat the previously unbeaten Baltimore Ravens on Sunday 33-28 behind yet another mammoth game from Patrick Mahomes, who is simply ridiculous. He threw for 374 yards and three touchdowns. The Chiefs are on upset alert this Sunday, though, as they are 6-point favorites in Detroit – Mahomes' first NFL game that counts in a dome.

Cleveland has been a bit of a flop so far and is now +3100 to win the Super Bowl; the Browns are one of four franchises to never play in the game. They are 7-point underdogs on Sunday at Baltimore in a matchup of former Heisman Trophy-winning QBs in Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson.
